B211 PROJECT
The vertical city, an intergenerational utopia full of harmony and fantasy. A place characterized by freedom and versatility that would not be possible for an average height apartment block. Light and dark, loud and quiet, green and gray. A space that through its high density metamorphoses into a colourful identity of the "city dwellers". From a basement bustling with a subway station, discotheque, and grocery store, over community dwelling units to a sky garden with a sundeck and café. This architectural manifesto represents a socially inclusive future, promoting diversity and acceptance. It is a place that fosters togetherness and unity within a single building.
The project is centered around the revitalization of a nearly abandoned tower located at Bonnerstraße 211 in Cologne, Germany. Originally constructed in 1971, the dwelling tower stands at a height of 76 meters.
